Frequently Asked Questions

Can I resole just a single shoe?

We resole climbing shoes in pairs, as typically when as shoe has worn through the toe or sole rubber, the other shoe is not far behind and will also need to be repaired.

What does a half sole resole mean?

A half resole is when we replace just the front portion of the sole of a climbing shoe, and not the heel or arch of the foot. So you’ll have a fresh new climbing edge from the toe all the way around the front of the shoe.

What is the rand on a climbing shoe?

The rand is the upper toe rubber portion of the shoe. In manufacturing, the rand is glued to the shoe before the sole, so when a rand repair is required, a resole will also be required.

Which rubber is the best?

There is no best rubber, as each rubber is tailored to specific types of climbing.

Vibram XS Grip 2 - Great for smearing, and steep climbing, softer than XS Edge.

Vibram XS Edge - Great for standing on small holds, and durability, stiffer than XS Grip 2.

Davos Stick Plus - A great option for a middle ground of durability and stickiness for indoor climbing.
